5 ways Google Pixel beats the iPhone 7 - ETtech - ETtech.com

Now that the Google Pixel is out and Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is out of the bed, the prime rival for Apple 's latest iPhones will be Google's new handset. And one impressive first attempt this is by Google, which outsourced the manufacturing to HTC, a known skipper at making Android-based smartphones. While this is good news for Google and Android fans, this isn't particularly terrific news for Apple as the Pixel does a few things that really put the new iPhone on the back seat. The Assistant. The difference between Google's new Assistant and Apple's Siri is like the one between Rosie the Drudge from the Jetsons and Uncle Fester from the Addams Family. Apple has a five year lead in conversational assistants. But the Google Helper is already miles ahead of Apple's Siri in terms of the way it understands the Indian accent and the context. A respected example is, if you say, "Siri, India is my favourite sports team", it will not understand it. But the Google Assistant will understand and give you the ceaseless match schedules and score cards. While Apple has opened up Siri for third party developers, Google has also done the same and already a bouquet of popular apps like Ola and Uber integrate with it. 2. The selfie camera. While there isn't much to talk about the resolution of cameras, the experience that Google offers a wide angle camera against Apple's standard front camera is a big deal. Selfies are notable, but group selfies are even more crucial and this is where Google's phone has the iPhone beat hands down. Google is also offering a a little higher resolution which should help with detail. While it doesn't have a front flash, a software update can surely add that or it may be even a third party app which could enable the screen to light up like the iPhone 7. 3. Battery life. While the battery living of a phone depends on how an individual uses his or her handset, the one area where Google's phone decimates the iPhone 7 is the speed at which it is competent to recharge. Apple provides a 1A charger while Google offers a 2A charger which is inherently faster. The Pixel's lead also escalates because there's abstention charging technology which ensures the Pixel XL gets charged much faster. Source: tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com

MacBook Pro notice: the Air apparent - The Verge

If you’re a fan of Apple laptops, I’ve got some edible news and some bad news. The good news: Apple has finally updated its Pro laptop line with some genuinely new and potent options. Even better, the new MacBook Pro has been shrunken down to the degree of serving as the MacBook Air’s spiritual successor, which is what uncountable of us had been hoping for all along. The bad news. Apple isn’t just giving, it’s also taking away. At first blush, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, sans think Touch Bar, looks like the perfect replacement for my aged MacBook Air from 2013. It’s the thinnest and lightest Pro in any case, and it provides the display and performance upgrades my three-year-old laptop has been in desperate need of. Costing $1,499, it sits to be fair in the middle between Apple’s $1,299 MacBook and the new $1,799 MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar and four Thunderbolt ports. It’s like the Air, in that it bridges the gap between Apple’s most shirt-pocket and most powerful mobile computers, but it does so in an interesting new way. Without the much-ballyhooed additions of Touch Bar interactions and Touch ID on the pricier new MacBook Pro models — which won’t be shipping for weeks — this more central MBP is essentially the professionalization of the 12-inch MacBook. More of a pro MacBook than a MacBook Pro. Why does it feel more like a MacBook. Thoroughly cooked, just look at it. The familiar MagSafe charger is gone, retired along with Apple’s SD card reader, HDMI manufacture, and old-school USB ports. This $1,499 MacBook Pro strips connectivity down to just a headphone jack on its right side and two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 on the formerly larboard. You also get the new option to style it out in a handsome space gray and an upgraded version of the MacBook’s super flat butterfly-physicalism keyboard. All of this, along with the solid-state Force Touch trackpad, expresses Apple’s modernized laptop devise, whose signature change is the frenzied push of USB-C as the unitary replacement for all the world’s ports. Apple is persevering to force the future into existence, and this laptop is just the next logical step. Logical though it may be for Apple, this MacBook Pro presents a dichotomy. Proficient video editors and photographers have been waiting for a new Pro laptop — but this midrange MacBook Pro probably isn’t that. Source: www.theverge.com

5 ways Google Pixel kicks the iPhone 7's meddle - Gizmodo India

Now that the Google Pixel is out and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is out of the equation, the prime measure up to for Apple’s new iPhones will be Google’s new hotness. And one hell of first attempt this is by Google which admittedly outsourced the manufacturing to HTC which is a known over and done with-master at making Android based smartphones. While this is good news for Google and Android fans, this isn’t outstandingly great news for Apple as the Pixel does a few things that really put the new iPhone to shame. The Assistant. The difference between Google’s new Consort with and Apple’s Siri is like the one between Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons and Uncle Fester from the Adams family. Apple has squandered a 5 year seduce in conversational assistants. The Google Assistant already without being feature complete is miles ahead of Siri in terms of the way it understands the Indian mark and the context. A good example is if I tell Siri India is my favourite sports team, it will not understand while the Google Helpmeet will understand and give me match schedules and score cards. While Apple has opened up Siri for third party developers, Google has also done the same and already a classify of popular apps like Ola and Uber integrate with it. The display. The Pixel wins this one easily. It not only uses nicer AMOLED technology which also ensures that the phone remains more productive in terms of battery life, but it also showcases more vibrant colours and has a sharper full HD resolution for the 5-inch exemplar and a quad HD resolution for the 5. 5-inch model. Apple’s screens are colour accurate to an insane above-board which will definitely catch the fancy of professionals, but for normal consumers Google has the better solution and seemingly it offers more. The selfie camera. While the gossip of about the resolution on the cameras isn’t much to talk about, the fact that Google offers a wide angle camera as opposed to Apple’s pretty type front camera is a big deal. Selfies are important, but group selfies are even more crucial and this is where Google’s phone has the iPhone cudgel hands down. Google is also offering a slightly higher resolution which should help with detail and while it doesn’t have a fa flash,. Source: www.gizmodo.in
